The Simpsons Theme on Classical Guitar

There's no stopping the human spirit of innovation and immitation, as shown by this clip. This amazing musician has transcribed the Simpsons theme onto classical guitar - and plays all of the parts. You have to see it to believe it.

Maynard Ferguson - "Round Midnight"

This is a super-hip rendition of Theloneous Monk's "Round Midnight" by Maynard Ferguson, and the Canadian All Stars (I think). The playing sure speaks for itself.

(If you haven't been able to tell, I'm a trumpet nerd.)

Cool Jazz Clip

This clip is too cool not to be shared with the world, so I wanted to start my blog with it.

8:22 of pure genius.

Originally broadcast in 1959, this 25-minute television performance brings together Miles’ quintet of the time, along with Gil Evans and his orchestra, performing compositions culled from the albums Kind of Blue and Miles Ahead. Personnel this clip: Miles Davis (trumpet), John Coltrane (tenor saxophone), Wynton Kelly (piano), Paul Chambers (bass), Jimmy Cobb (drums), plus Jimmy Cleveland and either Bill Elton, Rod Levitt & Frank Rehak (trombone)

What else needs to be said?
